The perfect escape
Welcome to Cedarwood holidays - a peaceful rural retreat with a bit of luxury. Here you have your own comfortable, self-contained cosy pod – situated in our 1 acre meadow surrounded by trees, wild flowers, birdsong, quiet lanes and footpaths, plus dark skies at night for star-gazing.
We are Kirstie and Joe - friendly and available whenever you need us but otherwise leaving you in peace and privacy to enjoy relaxation, adventure, exploration and inspiration from the natural rural environment and fabulous coast paths and beaches of the unique Lizard peninsula.
Enjoy Some You-Time
We are located in SW Cornwall on the unique Lizard Peninsula half a mile from the thriving village of St Keverne where you will find two great pubs, The White Hart & The Three Tuns, a village store, butcher/deli, post office & bus route into Helston. Roskilly’s Organic Ice-cream farm lies 200 metres along the lane, where you can enjoy a walk around the ponds, meadows & woods, visit the animals, or enjoy breakfast or a meal in the Croust House followed by one of their famous Ice creams which are produced on site.
Cosy & Contemporary
Our pods are designed with comfort in mind with an en-suite shower-room, a kitchenette, with microwave, fridge, kettle, toaster & t.v, each pod has its own free wi-fi for those who wish to stay connected & the central heating means they are are not only great through the summer months but perfect for those cosy winter nights too. Each pod has its own wooden decked area, a picnic table/bench and a barbecue. In the meadow we have a ‘round house’ (or open stone circle) with fire pit and log seating which you are welcome to use. (logs provided at no extra cost).
Why not make your stay a little more romantic & order a bottle of Champagne or Prosecco, a box of hand made, locally sourced chocolates & have silk rose petals spread over the bed.
Due to our favourable location there are several beaches within a short drive including Kennack Sands, Kynance Cove, Gunwalloe (Church Cove), Poldhu Cove & Mullion to name a few. Our nearest beach is just over a mile away in the fishing village of Coverack, kayak’s, wind surfing & paddle boards can be hired & the harbour wall is ideal for sitting in the sun enjoying fish & chips from the Lifeboat House restaurant.
Our soaps are made here at Cedarwood from scratch using the age-old method of mixing oils and caustic soda (Lye) together at high temperatures. For the soap base, I combine the natural ingredients of olive oil, coconut oil, fully sustainable palm oil and cocoa butter to give a gentle but nourishing lather. Added to this are the pure scents of essential oils, which in addition to their amazing scents, are believed to possess therapeutic qualities which can benefit not only our skin but also our physical and emotional well-being.
In January 2022 I obtained the certification for my first soap recipes (a legal requirement with skin care products). Buy direct at Cedarwood or online via our website
